Night report page - 20130411
Observers: Stefan Taubenberger, Stephan Hachinger
Data reduction team: Nancy Elias-Rosa, Antonia Morales-Garoffolo
1st night of 2nd subrun (only SOFI).
All observations turned out to be good quality unless noted otherwise (**).
initial weather cond: humidity ~40%, wind <5m/s, ~clear sky
middle-of-night weather cond: humidity ~50%, wind ~5m/s, ~clear sky
late-night weather cond: humidity ~30%, wind ~5m/s, ~clear sky
UT 23:30 start of night with SOFI
--- seeing image 1.2..2.0'' (!), DIMM >~1.0'' ---
UT 23:30 followup OGLE-2012-SN-006 airmass=1.9 JHK
** in J some electronic noise.
** in H first try with 18sec exptime (20sec suggested in template block):
too high sky bg. Repeated and reduced H/K to 12/9 sec, respectively, incr. NDIT
accordingly. Sky remains variable.
** forgot to set name fields of indiv. exposures in OB
(thus, they are named "name_J" instead of "OGLE..._J" etc.)
--- seeing image ~1.0'', DIMM 1.0'' ---

UT 05:10 followup SN2013K airmass=1.8 JHK
* reduced K somewhat from last subrun (b/c of good image quality),
but still 2 (stacked) exposures
--- seeing image 1.1'' ---

UT 07:30 followup PSN J15213475-0722183 airmass=1.1 JHK
** J-band
first two images with J photometry scrambled out of reasons unknown
- reset OB after images #1-#4 (out of which #3 and #4 ok)
- images #5-#16 are a regular sequence of 12 images which are sufficient for
J photometry when co-added
- after image #16 block was aborted b/c S/N already considered sufficient
(one image #17 was still running and completed)
* H-band and K-band
- started after sufficient J S/N obtained, with own OBs respectively. Success.
--- seeing DIMM 1.0'', image 1.5'', both with strong oscillations ---
UT 08:40 followup SN2009ip airmass=1.9 JHK
* observed ~ from "SN higher than NTT pointing limit" into the twilight
** H/K-band affected by bad seeing (measured ~2.0'') -> only marginal det.
